Coincidence? Maybe..

I've been up in Seattle this week.

Apparently, so is this guy

Of course, barely anyone notices that I'm up here right now, which is fine :) It's better that way, actually.

There are parallels, however. The future of people, their interactions, culture and technology's role - we're both thinking about these things and talking about them this week.

Let's see which routes are the most appropriate ones. The winners should be people, when it comes down to it.

Starting Over

I've been quiet for a little while here because I've been doing some housecleaning: both physical and mental. I'm not lacking in the ideas for blog topics, but I have been lacking for time. As might be evident from my posts (if you don't actually know me) I have a hugely diverse range of interests. It's a double-edged sword because it means that the problem of focus becomes much more acute.

So, the past few weeks I've tried to be much more focused. Thinking harder about how I'm spending my time, creating specific deadlines I needed to meet on a couple things that are important and ignoring everything else.

Including blogging.

I swept that one away for a while as I locked other, more important (I thought) things down.

It's become quite clear to me during that time that I've missed the writing outlet that blogging provides. Reflecting upon this, I have realized that writing; like running, reading and having interesting conversations with friends (both old and new alike) is very cathartic for me. It allows me to even out my emotions, to calm down, put life in perspective and to get that "full" feeling - the one where I know that I've invested in myself and my future in a meaningful way.

So, back to blogging it is. I'm feeling a little empty at the moment, but have a ton of writing in my head that'll help with this.

This is exactly where I am right now

Not physically, but mentally, Seth Godin captures exactly where I am in my thinking right now: Seth's Blog: Labor Day

Check out some of my favorite posts on the left if you'd like to catch up some more.

Lots more coming, I promise. This is VERY hard work for me.
